HAND DRAWN WITH STITCHES
Changing your scatter cushions is the easiest way to bring new life to a room. If you're a plant lover (and even if you're not!), these are perfect for you!
Inspired by our beautiful surrounds in Cape Town. Metalasia muricata D.Don, commonly known as 'White Bristle Bush' or 'Blombos', is a hardy twiggy shrub with honey-scented flowers, and an important component of the coastal and mountain fynbos regions of Southern Africa.
We start by creating texture and depth with fabric paint, and then stitch into it which gives a 3D effect. Layers of colours and texture create interesting one-of-a-kind cushion covers.
We draw the designs with thread, using free motion machine embroidery. We use a normal domestic sewing machine for this "drawing with thread" technique, and each one is created individually ensuring each item is unique.
We use a hemp/cotton blend fabric. The motif can be requested in different thread colours - we have a few colourways, see images for reference.
Dimensions: 60x40cm is our standard size, but you are welcome to request the following sizes: 60x60cm | 70x50cm (prices will vary with size)
